Add fish pieces and salt to taste. Cover and cook over a medium heat,until fish is cooked and gravy is thick. Remove from heat and keep covered for at least one hour for the flavors to blend in. - In a big bowl, add the blended mixture, salt, coriander powder, vinegar and mix well. - Make slits in the mackerel, and marinate the fish with the masala and keep it for 2 hours. In a pan add some oil and fry the fishes.
- In a pan add some oil, add some curry leaves and mix the second batch of masala, and add the fried fish and cook it in low flame for 2-3 minutues on each side. Serve it with coriander leaves.

Fish pieces will be coated with spicy masala and tamarind gravy will not disappoint you, if you served with hot rice. Actually I keep this dish overnight to get tht spicy taste for the fish pieces.
