- Pour the Oil into your saucepan and heat the oil for about 1 minute. Add the diced onion and garlic (if you're using it) to the oil and let it fry lightly for about 2 minutes OR when you can perceive the aroma of the fried garlic.
- Add your blended pepper to the saucepan and let it fry for till it is halfway thickened.
- Add your shredded mackerel and seasoning cubes to the sauce and let it fry till you can see oil bubbles on the sauce. Taste for seasoning.
- Voila! your delicious sauce is ready to be enjoyed alongside boiled yam, boiled rice, boiled potatoes or even plantains.
