This is probably my most favourite Kerala fish recipe - nethili fry. The fish is supposedly high in calcium because we eat the bones too after frying it marinated in spices. Anchovies fish is also known as Nethili meen in Tamil. Today I'm using fresh fish to make this fry.

Instructions to make Nethili(Anchovies)Fish Fry:
  1. Clean fish well at least twice in turmeric water.
  2. Add all the ingredients and mix well to coat all the fishes.
  3. Squeeze half a lemon and marinate for atleast half an hour.
  4. Heat oil in a tawa and fry both sides till crisp. Drain on a tissue.

You can even use the dry fish for the same fry. Method of making both are same and both tastes equally good. Once you marinate this fish let it rest for at least half an hour. So that all the ingredients get infused into the fish. Heat oil in a wide pan and add the marinated fish.
